3D Printing

Major Project

This is my final major project for university, this project is still currently a work in progress! This project is based around cutesy pumpkin characters I created when I was grieving the loss of my dog and bearded dragon, I then decided that I was going to turn them into my project. this project is a mixture of character design, 3D printing, book illustration, package design and (possibly) animation . there are actually two projects that I’m working on, one being the pumpkins and strawberry collectible figures, and children figures based on a children’s book written by my mother about our dog and his squishy unicorn.

Final Outcomes

Convergence / divergence unit

This was my first 3D project, and I am still very happy without the outcome although I have progressed a lot with 3D work. This unit was about exploring different methods/mediums, out of the four options I decided to choose the 3D object route. we had to come up with the theme of the project and also what the outcome/goal was going to be, I decided to go the 3D print route, partially because I have access to a 3d printer and also because I could also interpret the other pathways into my work, this resulting in a multimedia outcome, containing, 3D printing, papercraft, ceramic and also a simple form of book binding (for the booklet). This was actually the project which sparked my passion for the 3D art pathway, and I aim to work even more with 3D.
